Marine Harvest ASA is a seafood company, which offers farmed salmon and processed seafood to customers worldwide. The company also offers value added products such as coated seafood, ready-to-eat meals, delicious finger food and smoked seafood. It operates its business through three business areas: Feed, Farming and Sales & Marketing. The Feed segment comprises first feed plant, located in Norway. The Farming segment engages in the farming operations in Norway, Scotland, Canada, Chile, Ireland and the Faroes Islands. It also engages in the processing activities and some filleting activities. The Sales & Marketing segment consists of two operating sub-segments: Markets and Consumer Products. The Markets sub-segment engages in the sale of its primary processed products obtained from the farming business and also purchased from third parties. The Consumer Products sub-segment engages in the European secondary processing and value added operations, as well as end-product sales, including logistics. Marine Harvest was founded on May 18, 1992 and is headquartered in Bergen, Norway.
