Founded 1987
Merit Medical Systems, Inc. designs, develops, manufactures and markets single-use medical products for interventional and diagnostic procedures. The company operates through two operating segments: Cardiovascular and Endoscopy. The Cardiovascular segment consists of cardiology and radiology devices which assist in diagnosing and treating coronary arterial disease, peripheral vascular disease and other non-vascular diseases and includes the embolotherapeutic products acquired through the acquisition of BioSphere Medical, Inc. The Endoscopy segment includes gastroenterology and pulmonology medical devices which assist in the palliative treatment of expanding esophageal, tracheobronchial and biliary strictures caused by malignant tumors. Merit Medical Systems was founded by Fred P. Lampropoulos, Kent W. Stanger and William Padilla in July 1987 and is headquartered in South Jordan, UT.
